Apple has upgraded the way businesses can manage their listing on Apple Maps. The new updates give businesses more control over what users see when they search for their company. The FREE tool lets any business customize their listing and the team of marketing experts at LTD Connect is here to tell you all about the new changes, and how to optimize your listing to reach more customers! 

New Changes

One of the biggest new changes to come to business listings on Apple Maps is the ability for businesses to add their own photos and logos to brand their listing. This can help customers recognize that they are interacting and searching for the correct business and showcase any special features that make them stand out from the rest. Apple Maps business data is accessible to users not only through the app itself but also via Siri, Wallet, and Messages.

Our favorite new feature is the Showcases. Showcases help businesses present customers with offers and incentives, like seasonal menu items, product discounts, and more. Businesses can easily update the Showcase section of their place card through Business Connect. Showcases will expire after 30 days unless you set them to end sooner. Showcases include the following elements:

• A photo and an image tag (should be added for accessibility and screen readers).
• A short title of up to 38 characters.
• A description of the showcase of up to 58 characters.

Businesses can also provide customers with useful information by highlighting actions for them to take directly from the Maps place card, like ordering groceries via Instacart, making a hotel reservation through an online booking service, or reserving a spot for dinner with OpenTable, and more, with just a tap.

Reviewing Performance & Engagement

With access to Apple Maps Insights, multi-location brands should have a much better sense of which locations are performing well, which ones need attention, and how performance is trending over time. So too, for the first time, businesses will be able to track traffic and conversion metrics for Apple in comparison to other platforms.
